Pilar
has successfully moved between performing and producing over the last 12
years.
After graduating from Northwestern University, Pilar moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career
in voice overs, music, screen and stage work. Wanting a full understanding of the entertainment
industry, she put in time behind the scenes working in many different positions for commercials,
industrials, music and film - all the while practicing and honing her crafts as a performer.
During her time in L.A., Pilar has produced multiple campaigns and events
for Intel, GSK's Hispanic Grassroots intiative for their product alli, and many others, but has also worked on many radio and TV spots using multiple voices, voiced the character of Diedre for the animation show
Moonwalk, and taught an improv class and scene study class for
S.L.A.T.E. In 2001 & 2002, Pilar spent several months in the San Francisco area performing plays and musicals in Marin County. In addition to performing in the Bay Area, she taught for the American Conservatory Theater and Kindermusik in the East Bay.
"Gershwin, Porter, and Pilar" is a one-woman show that Pilar produced, promoted and
debuted at Masquer's Café--also performed at Luna Park and the CineGrill in
Los Angeles and debuted in the San Francisco area at the Barn Theater in Marin County. In November 2002, she went to New York City and performed this show for the first time on the East Coast.
